The best part about Pasta Pappone? All you need is olive oil or butter, and maybe some parmesan (because, cheese). But, you want to get chef-y, here's our recommended pairings!
Spinach Basil Garlic Fettuccini
This pasta goes well with blistered garlic tomatoes. Toss cherry tomatoes in olive oil and add a few cloves of garlic. Roast in 450 degree oven for 20-25 minutes, until tomatoes start to burst. Cook pasta according to package directions, then toss tomatoes - juices and all! - with pasta and serve. If you want to add protein, chicken or chicken sausage works well!
Tomato Basil Garlic Fettuccini
TBG is fantastic with just some simple burratta (a cream-filled mozzarella cheese) and more basil for a take on a Caprese salad. This pasta also pairs well with pesto.
Sweet Potato Fettuccini
Classic with browned butter and sage. Simply take a few tablespoons of butter and saute over medium heat. The butter will start to bubble, feel free to shake it around a bit in the pan. After a minute or two more, the butter will begin to carmelize and brown. At this point, add in some diced fresh or dried sage. This toasty butter can then be tossed with your pre-made pasta.
Thai Citrus Ginger Linguini
Cook pasta according to package directions, and when you drain it, retain about a cup of pasta water. Simply saute a pound of shrimp in butter, pasta water and garlic over medium heat. Once shrimp are cooked through -- they should turn pink and curl up, about 3-5 minutes -- turn off heat and squeeze half a lime over the shrimp and butter mixture. Toss with your boiled pasta!
Lemon Pepper Linguini
Another dish that pairs well with shrimp or chicken. Prepare shrimp or chicken as you normally would, then toss with pasta, olive oil and a sprinkle of parmesan cheese. Leave out the protein and mix with olive oil and a heaping mound of parmesan cheese for the classic Cacio e Pepe!
Artichoke Rosemary Linguini
We love doing this with a Mediterranean style preparation. Dice some kalamata olives and tomatoes. Cook pasta according to package directions, and retain a half cup of cooking liquid. Toss pasta in olive oil and cooking liquid. Add in olives and tomatoes, and top with a generous helping of feta cheese.
Green Chile Fettuccini
The spicy, smoky green chile is the star of this dish, and we love pairing it with a light cream sauce and some fresh sweet corn. Also pairs well with sauteed bell pepper and chicken.
